The IELTS writing module computer-based exam is for 60 minutes. The duration for the writing module exam is the same for both types of IELTS. Both types of IELTS include: Academic & General training, which have Task 1 and Task 2. IELTS Academic Writing Module Task 1: You have to describe a graph/chart/diagram. In the IELTS General Writing Module task 1, you have to write a letter by following the tone of formal or informal. In contrast, the writing task 2 for both IELTS types: Academic & IELTS General, you have to write an essay on an argumentative topic.

Time Management in the IELTS Writing Exam
The IELTS Writing exam recommends 20 minutes for the writing task 1, and the word count limit is a minimum of 150 words. Moreover, the scoring criteria for this section is 33%. In writing task 2, the recommended time is 40 minutes, and the word count limit is a minimum of 250 words. The scoring weight from this section is 67%.
